WHO WE TREAT

WE TREAT EVERYONE

From early childhood treatment through to teens and adults, Dr Saicich and the team will develop the right treatment for you.

CHILDREN

Both the Australian and American Orthodontic Associations recommend a visit to the orthodontist at 7 to 8 years of age. This is when permanent teeth are starting to erupt and many problems with both the jaws and teeth can be quickly detected.

In most cases, young patients require little to no early treatment and instead are placed on our regular recall plan where we monitor the development of the teeth and facial features as your child grows.

When needed, Dr Saicich will recommend the best treatment options for your child with the aim of maximising efficiency and minimising treatment time.

Common conditions that require early intervention include (but not limited to):

  • Thumb sucking habit
  • Premature loss of a baby molar.
  • Specific jaw conditions
  • Abnormal arrangement of the teeth e.g. missing teeth or crowding

BENEFITS OF EARLY TREATMENT

Early detection of potential problems lays the foundation for a healthy, lifelong smile.

Saves you financial and emotional stress associated with issues that go unchecked.

Guide the jaw's growth pattern to reduce the chance of jaw pain.

TEENS

The ages between 11 to 15 years old are the most common time for orthodontic treatment. This is due to teenagers having all of their adult teeth and their face and jaws changing because of their growth spurt makes teeth respond better to moving.

There are now multiple treatment options including braces that are more comfortable and discreet with ceramic brackets, plus invisible options including Invisalign and lingual braces. So, whether your teenager is feeling a bit self-conscious or ready to show off their braces, we have the right treatment for them.

Common reasons for teenagers to have treatment:

  • Improve smile aesthetics including straightening teeth or closing gaps
  • Correcting jaw and facial development caused from an overbite or underbite

BENEFITS OF TREATMENT FOR TEENS

Improving your teen's smile improves their confidence – studies support this time and time again. Aesthetics are important for your teen!

Correcting crowded teeth makes it easier to keep teeth clean and decreases the chance of gum and tooth decay.

Because your teen is growing, it's easier and faster to move the teeth compared to adulthood.

solving some bite problems can improve facial features.

ADULTS

You may have noticed a friend or colleague with braces or Invisalign and wondered if it was possible for anyone to have treatment.

The answer is YES!

Teeth can be moved at any age as long as you have good bone and gum health. Dr Saicich's oldest patient has been 75 years old which goes to show that it's never too late to have the smile you've always wanted.
